The Austin Swing Syndicate has been around since 1999 to support and grow the local swing dance scene. Can you believe it’s been 16 years? The Austin Swing Syndicate is celebrating its 16th Anniversary! And there’s no better way to celebrate than with one of Austin’s best jazz bands, the Jonathan Doyle Swingtet! We have a lot stuff planned for this year such as: raffles, photo booth, and more! Don’t forget to park for FREE in our parking garage!

The best part: Admission to this dance is FREE if you’re a current Austin Swing Syndicate member (Sorry, affiliate memberships do not count for this)! For non-members, admission is $10 (or you can sign up for a membership at the door to take advantage of the perk). Please remember to bring your membership cards in order to get free admission!

There will still be a beginner swing dance lesson at 8:15pm, so if you’ve never danced or attended the Austin Swing Syndicate before, don’t fret! We’ve got you covered. There’ll also be a beginner collegiate shag lesson followed by DJ’d groove tunes in the side room. Dancing and live music until midnight! Hope to see everyone there!

Remember to dress up since we’ll be having a photo booth there as well! We also have raffles for a month pass from each of these dance studios:

  • Code Blue
  • Four on the Floor
  • The Lindy Project

If you are a member, you’ll receive 1 raffle ticket upon entry. Extra raffles can be purchased by everyone for only $1 ea!

Also, we’ll be announcing our 2015, Syndie Award Winner this year. This Award is given to a member each year for their outstanding contribution to our community and organization. Winners of the Syndie award have a lifetime membership to the Austin Swing Syndicate and get into all Syndicate events for free. Stick around to find out who our winner is for this year!

Schedule of Events:

  • 8:00pm – Doors Open
  • 8:15pm – Beginner Swing Dance Lessons Begin in main ballroom
  • 9:00pm – Lessons end, and social dancing begins in main ballroom
  • 9:15pm – Live Band Begins
  • 9:30pm – Photo booth opens
  • Midnight – Dance Ends
