We're all comin' down south this year! We heard that everything is bigger in Texas, but that when it comes to bluesSHOUT!, everything is *better* in Texas!
You can always count on bluesSHOUT! to bring you the best of everything - awesome live and DJed blues, top quality instruction, inspiring competitions and performances, and social dancing that leaves you weak in the knees. Show us wha'cha workin' with Austin!
Think you can put on the best show in town? Want to throw it down on the bluesSHOUT! 2010 stage? Now is the time to submit an entry to perform at bluesSHOUT! Austin!
Your performance can be any of the following categories: Girl and/or Guy Troupes Couples Partnered Troupes Solo Blues
Your piece should be 3 minutes or less. Please submit a video clip of no less than a minute of your routine with flv, avi, mpg, or wmv formatting. If it is a team piece we need enough members performing in the clip to get an idea of what your routine will look like as a final product.
Deadline for all submissions is February 15!!!

Hey Kids!
Hopefully you’ve been saving your pennies for bluesSHOUT! Austin, because we’re happy to announce that REGISTRATION WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN ON Monday, February 15th!! (That’s just in one week, folks.) If you register for the event early, you’ll get the lowest price for all the workshops, social dancing and contests throughout the weekend in Austin.
Early Bird pricing will not last forever, so please register as soon as possible! There will be "After 5" passes offered later in the registration process.
BRING IT!
Don’t forget that if you hope to perform for this year’s Shout, you have another week to submit an entry for selection. Please submit your video clip for review no later than Monday, February 15th. We’re currently looking for:

Since we know you're the kind of dancer who knows a good thing when you see it, we're offering you a special Early Bird price of $115! (There's also a special discount for Austin college students - just $105). You'll want to act fast though, this great price won't last long!

The early bird gets the cheapest pass, and if you haven't had a chance to register yet the clock is ticking...
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR EARLY BIRD... TODAY is the last day you can register for bluesSHOUT! Austin! at the Early Bird price. At midnight the price jumps from $115 to $145 for a full weekend pass. That pass gets you into all the classes, dances and competitions throughout the weekend.
BUT IT'S THE FIRST DAY FOR DANCE ONLY PASSES... The Dance Only pass will be available starting today at $75! That pass will get you into all evening and late night dances during bluesSHOUT! You can also enter any of the bluesSHOUT! contests for FREE with this pass.
BUT HEY, THERE'S STILL TIME TO SIGN UP AS A HOST! We've got a host of visitors coming to Austin to party... why not open your home and make some new friends? If you're able to host incoming dancers for the event, please contact our housing coordinator extrordinaire Jeremy Emack at housing@bluesshout.com .

The bluesSHOUT! Task Force is excited to bring The Asylum Street Spankers to the stage for your dancing pleasure!
Austin is known for it's vibrant live music community. We at bluesSHOUT! like to highlight local talent as well as bring you the best blues music around. The Spankers are one of the most elite blues and folk bands in the country, and we are lucky that they call Austin home.
The Spankers have been shoring up their blues music repertoire just for you, and will be crooning and rocking your blues socks off Saturday night at bluesSHOUT! This is NOT a show to miss!!
NOTE: The first set begins promptly at 9:00PM. Please plan to arrive early (doors will be open at 8:30PM) to enjoy the full show.

Last call for alcohol... ahem. Let's try that again.
Last call for bluesSHOUT! Full Event passes at $145! Last call for Dance Only passes at $75! Last call for tshirts! Last call for local housing! Online registration will close on Friday, March 31. After that, registration will be at the door only: $165 for the Full Event pass, and dances can be bought a la carte, for a total of $95.
Housing sign-up is available as part of the registration process. Housing priority goes to folks who have paid, and we are already limited, so you're not going to want to wait until the last minute.
You've got about two weeks to get those registrations in. With the airlines all putting out special deals, now is the time!

At long last, class descriptions are up on the website! We appreciate your patience - true greatness takes time!
Because of the high numbers of out-of-town registrants, our housing availability is met at this time. That said, we are still looking for a few more to host and are keeping a waitlist. If you were thinking of reserving a hotel room for the weekend, now is the time to do it! Splitting a room and the cost of a rental car can end up being quite the deal, and you only have to share the shower with three other people! *Don't forget, online registration ends in just over a week, on Wednesday March 31st!*

Shawn Hershey and Amanda Gruhl are exclusively available for private lessons during BluesSHOUT! They specialize in connection, body movement, musicality, rhythmic ideas, and blending different dance styles. This is a great opportunity to get some personalized attention in addition to group classes. Performances Every year, bluesSHOUT! showcases talented Blues choreographers and performers from around the country...
This year, all of our performances will happen at the end of the main dance on Saturday. This way, you can have seat and enjoy the show without missing out on any dancing time.

Friday Night Band I bet some of you were wondering when we'd get around to announcing our Friday night band. Private Lessons Our awesome venue, The Fed, has small dance rooms that are perfect for private lessons.
As you already know, Shawn Hershey and Amanda Gruhl, as our Instructors At Large, are available during the day Saturday and Sunday for private lessons. They've already got several booked, so if you'd like a spot, send us an email at info@bluesshout.com .
If you'd like a private lesson with any other bluesSHOUT! instructor, please send us an email so that we can reserve a time and space for you.
